Nothing tastes better than ice cream on a hot summer day. Homemade ice cream is a staple at our house during the hot summer days. I am always wishing that I had an extra ice cream maker because I can’t make it fast enough. My kids go through it like crazy. It’s definitely a favorite!
I have a few favorite ice cream recipes and this is one of them! This strawberry Ice cream recipe is a good one! It’s super simple and delicious!
Here are the ingredients you are going to need:
2 1/3 cups ripe Strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 lemon, juiced
1 1/3 sour cream or half and half
1 1/3 heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp vanilla
Make sure you use ripe strawberries for a better tasting ice cream. Using a potato masher, mash the strawberries or your can slice them if you want bigger chunks. Stir together the mashed strawberries and sugar together. Add in the lemon juice, sour cream or half and half, heavy whipping cream and vanilla. Stir together and pour into ice cream maker.
I let my ice cream churn for about a half hour. It’s nice and soft right out of the ice cream maker. That’s it! Super easy!
This recipe works with any kind of ripe fruit that you might want to add in. Strawberries and Raspberries are my personal favorite!
