Fun Chalk Painting Project
I love to refinish old furniture! I was so excited to find this fun chalk paint project at a local thrift store for only $40.00! Lately I had been to a few of my favorite consignment shops looking for a similar piece that had already been refinished, but couldn’t find anything I liked. My search came to an end when I found this fun piece. It was exactly what I was looking for at a fraction of the cost! Now it was up to me to do the refinishing part.
I hate doing a ton of sanding and so I decided to go ahead and turn it into a chalk paint project. I had some left over white (shade: Kid Gloves) Valspar Chalky paint and wax that I used. Valspar is my favorite store bought chalk paint. The paint has a nice consistency and the wax is creamy and easy to apply. You can buy your chalk paint or save a little bit of money and make your own.I then removed all hard ware and drawers and began to paint. I ended up doing about 3 coats of paint because of the cherry stain that already existed. I could have primed it to keep the stain from coming through but wanted it have a little bit of an antique look so I decided to leave it.

Not all furniture that you find will have fun knobs and pulls like this. Usually you can find similar ones at consignments stores or even Hobby Lobby Happy Thrifting!!
